Head Coach: Bo Russum
2025 Record: 6-5 overall, 3-1 in Region 8-4A
Classification: MHSAA Class 4A
2026 Season Opener: Aug. 21 vs. Stone
Bo Russum inherited a Forrest County Agricultural team filled mostly with freshmen and sophomores when he arrived in Brooklyn last summer. One year later, those young Aggies have something far more valuable than preseason potential.
They have experience.
Forrest County AHS finished the 2025 regular season 6-4, placed second in Region 8-4A and hosted a playoff game during Russum’s first season as head coach. The Aggies eventually fell to Poplarville in the opening round, but the season established a foundation for a program transitioning away from longtime coach Larry Dolan.
Russum came to Brooklyn after spending four seasons as Columbia’s defensive coordinator, where he helped the Wildcats capture the 2021 Class 4A state championship. He inherited a roster that had lost several important seniors, but he also saw something he believed could be developed.
“They were still overachieving because of the work ethic and the type of kids that they are here,” Russum told WDAM before his first season. “I’ve always just wanted to coach this group of kids.”

The Aggies rewarded that belief by winning three of their four region games, recording two shutouts and finishing behind only Pass Christian in the Region 8-4A standings. Now, many of the players who were learning Russum’s system last fall return with another year of strength, confidence and varsity experience.
Senior quarterback Parks Brock is back after starting since his freshman season. Cleveland Thompson returns after leading the team in rushing. Tyrique Britton is back following a productive season at receiver and cornerback, while young defensive standouts Trevaughn Robinson, Tristan Robinson and Jordan Husband give Forrest County AHS the foundation of a defense that could become the team’s greatest strength.
The Aggies are still young in several places but they are no longer inexperienced.
Parks Brock Enters His Senior Season

The most experienced player on the Forrest County AHS offense is quarterback Parks Brock. Brock has played quarterback since his freshman year and enters 2026 preparing for his fourth season in the starting conversation. Russum identified Brock as one of the major reasons he wanted the Forrest County AHS job and installed a spread offense designed to place more responsibility in his quarterback’s hands.
Brock completed 58.3 percent of his passes in 2025, threw six touchdowns and averaged 30.8 rushing yards per game. He also scored three rushing touchdowns, demonstrating his ability to keep plays alive and contribute with his legs.
The Aggies also used Sean Walker at quarterback during portions of last season. Walker threw 11 touchdown passes as a sophomore and gives Russum another option capable of operating the offense or contributing at receiver.
That flexibility could become one of Forrest County AHS’s most interesting offensive storylines. Brock offers senior experience and a strong understanding of the offense. Walker provides athleticism and has already demonstrated that he can produce touchdowns through the passing game.
Russum could choose one primary quarterback or continue finding ways to place both players on the field. Either way, Forrest County AHS enters the season with more experience at the position than most Class 4A programs.
Cleveland Thompson Leads the Backfield

Cleveland Thompson returns after leading the Aggies with 69.1 rushing yards per game during his junior season. Thompson also scored six total touchdowns and contributed as a receiver, making him one of the offense’s most versatile returning players.
His importance will increase following the graduation of Terrence Horne. Horne led Forrest County AHS in receiving yards per game, scored six receiving touchdowns and intercepted four passes on defense. He also contributed in the running game, giving Russum a dependable two-way playmaker.
Thompson will be asked to take over a larger portion of that production. The Aggies showed last season that they can win through the running game. They rushed for 237 yards during the five-overtime victory over Moss Point and accumulated 219 rushing yards in the shutout of Bay High.
With Brock and Walker capable of running from the quarterback position, Forrest County AHS can create several different looks without changing personnel. Thompson remains the player most likely to become the centerpiece of that attack.
Tyrique Britton Becomes the Top Receiving Option
Senior Tyrique Britton returns after averaging 30.4 receiving yards per game and catching six touchdown passes in 2025. Britton also intercepted two passes from his cornerback position, making him another important two-way player for the Aggies.
With Horne graduated, Britton becomes the most established receiver on the roster.
He should receive help from Jordan Husband, who made an immediate impact as a freshman. Husband averaged 29.2 receiving yards per game, caught two touchdowns and recorded four interceptions on defense. He also averaged 7.4 tackles per game.
At 6-foot-3 and approximately 190 pounds, Husband offers the type of size that can create difficult matchups against Class 4A defensive backs. Recruiting databases already identify him as a member of the 2029 class worth following.
Walker, Lee Roberts and other returning athletes can also contribute in the passing game. The Aggies may not have one receiver capable of replacing everything Horne provided. They have enough experienced options to spread the production across the formation.
Trevaughn Robinson Leads a Promising Defense
The biggest name on the Forrest County AHS defense may be junior linebacker Trevaughn Robinson.
Robinson averaged 14.4 tackles per game and recorded nine sacks as a sophomore, leading the Aggies in both categories. His production made him one of the top young defenders in the Pine Belt. He’s listed at at approximately 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds in the 2028 class. He has the size to defend the run inside and the athleticism to create pressure from the edge.
Robinson will be joined by Tristan Robinson, who recorded five sacks as a sophomore. Tristan also recovered a fumble and can contribute at tight end, giving the Aggies another valuable two-way player.
Lee Roberts Remains the Do-It-All Aggie
Some players fit neatly into one position. Lee Roberts does not.
Roberts described himself before last season as a player capable of lining up at fullback, linebacker, defensive end and tight end. He appeared on the 2025 roster simply as an athlete, which may be the most accurate description of his role. Now entering his junior season, Roberts should become an even more important part of the team.
He can block for Thompson, provide Brock with a short receiving option, defend the run or rush the quarterback. That versatility allows the coaching staff to adjust its formations without substituting. At a Class 4A school where depth can become important late in the season, a dependable multi-position player carries significant value.
An Aggie at the Division I Level
Former Forrest County AHS linebacker Avery Sledge has carried the Aggie tradition into Division I football.
Sledge originally signed with Mississippi State before transferring to Southern Miss. During the 2024 season, he appeared in eight games for the Golden Eagles, recording 13 tackles, breaking up two passes and forcing a fumble.
His journey gives the current Aggies an example of the path available to players from Brooklyn.
Forrest County AHS does not currently have a publicly confirmed commitment in the 2027 recruiting class. However, strong senior seasons from Brock, Britton or Thompson could create opportunities, while younger players such as Trevaughn Robinson and Husband are beginning to receive greater attention.
Five Games to Watch
Aug. 21 – Stone
Stone shut out Forrest County AHS 17-0 in Russum’s debut last season. The rematch in Brooklyn gives the Aggies an immediate opportunity to demonstrate how much their young offense has developed.
Sept. 18 – East Central
East Central defeated Forrest County AHS 41-19 in 2025. The Hornets’ physical running game will challenge an Aggie defense that returns several young playmakers.
Sept. 25 – at Purvis
Forrest County AHS and Purvis have played more than 90 times, making it the longest-running rivalry on the Aggies’ schedule. Purvis won last season’s meeting 34-20, and the road rematch should again draw plenty of attention around the Pine Belt.
Oct. 9 – Pass Christian
Pass Christian won Region 8-4A and defeated Forrest County AHS 36-8 last season.
This home game represents the clearest opportunity for the Aggies to measure themselves against the current standard in the region.
Oct. 29 – Greene County
Forrest County AHS defeated Greene County 21-14 to secure second place last season.
The regular-season finale could again determine playoff qualification, seeding and whether the Aggies host a postseason game.

Magnolia Coast Sports Outlook
Forrest County AHS survived the growing pains of a coaching change and a young roster better than many expected.
The Aggies won six regular-season games, finished second in Region 8-4A and earned a home playoff game during Russum’s first season. Now Brock, Thompson, Britton and much of the young defensive core return with another year of experience.
Trevaughn Robinson could become one of the region’s best defenders, while Husband and Tristan Robinson give the Aggies two more young players capable of making a major impact.
The schedule remains difficult, and Pass Christian enters the season as the region favorite. Forrest County AHS must also replace important senior production from Horne and Norman.
Still, this roster should be more prepared for close games than it was one year ago.
The Aggies have enough experience to remain in the playoff race and challenge for another top-two finish in Region 8-4A.
Magnolia Coast Sports Prediction: 5-5 regular season, second place in Region 8-4A and another Class 4A playoff appearance.
