The calendar may say June, but for one night on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, football season arrives early.
Tonight, the sounds of baseball bats and seagulls along Back Bay Biloxi will mix with the familiar black-and-gold pride of Saints Nation as Saints Hall of Fame Night returns to Keesler Federal Park. What has become one of the Gulf Coast’s most anticipated summer sports traditions brings together two of the region’s greatest passions. Baseball and New Orleans Saints football.
The weather may not have cooperated this week, but that only means more baseball for fans heading to Keesler Federal Park tonight.
After days of heavy rain and flooding concerns across South Mississippi forced schedule adjustments, the Biloxi Shuckers will make up lost time with a doubleheader on one of the biggest nights of their season
As part of the 10th annual Saints Hall of Fame Gulf Coast Celebration, fans will have the chance to meet Saints legends, collect autographs, see the Shuckers take the field in special Saints-themed jerseys, and enjoy an evening that feels more like a festival than a baseball game. For many Coast residents, the Saints aren’t just a football team. They’re part of the culture, woven into family traditions, Sunday gatherings, and decades of memories stretching from Biloxi to New Orleans.

Tonight, that black-and-gold spirit takes center stage at the ballpark.
Fans will also get the chance to meet and take photos with a long list of former Saints players scheduled to appear, including Terron Armstead, George Rogers, Dalton Hilliard, Michael Lewis, Jim Dombrowski, John Fourcade, Jonathan Abram, Skyler Green, Tyrone Hughes, Joel Hilgenberg, Brett Maxie, Mike Strachan, Brad Edelman, Buford Jordan, Garland Jean-Batiste, Larry Hardy, Jack Holmes, Tyrone Legette, Vernon Perry, Christian Ringo, Maurice Spencer, Daryl Terrell, Chuck Commiskey and Emanuel Zanders.
That list alone makes the night worth circling. You have franchise history, old-school New Orleans grit, Superdome memories, Gulf South football roots and names that span different generations of Saints fandom.
Before the game, the Saints Experience for youth is expected to be set up in the courtyard around 4 p.m., giving younger fans a chance to get involved before the Shuckers take the field. Then comes baseball, autographs, photos, Saints jerseys and Friday night fireworks after the final out.
It is the kind of promotion minor league baseball does best. It is not just a game. It is a community night. It is a reason for dads to tell their kids about old Saints teams. It is a reason for lifelong fans to bring out the black and gold in the middle of baseball season. It is a reason for the Coast to feel connected to New Orleans without leaving Biloxi.
