
In the first round of the SEC Tournament, Mississippi State dominated LSU with a decisive 91-62 victory. The game took place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN and saw the Bulldogs advance to the second round to face Missouri.
Mississippi State’s Josh Hubbard was the standout player, scoring 26 points, including six 3-pointers3. The Bulldogs shot an impressive 52% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc. LSU struggled to keep up, shooting only 39% from the field and committing 15 turnovers.
In the first half, Mississippi State built a commanding 44-24 lead, with Hubbard scoring 16 points3. LSU managed to cut the deficit to 11 points early in the second half, but the Bulldogs responded with a 20-2 run to seal the game.
Jordan Sears led LSU with 20 points, while Robert Miller III and Cam Carter added 14 and 13 points, respectively. Despite their efforts, LSU couldn’t overcome the early deficit and ended their season on a six-game losing streak.
Mississippi State’s victory secured their spot in the second round of the SEC Tournament, where they will face the seventh-seeded Missouri Tigers Thursday evening 6p.m. (CT) on SEC Network.
