Mississippi State wins mid-week game over UAB and extends win streak
Mississippi State continued its midweek dominance with an 8-3 win over UAB at Young Memorial Field. The Bulldogs, now 20-13, secured their seventh consecutive midweek victory, thanks to a strong performance from Noah Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, a double, and a home run.
UAB briefly tied the game in the second inning with back-to-back RBI doubles, but Mississippi State responded in the fifth with a four-run outburst, highlighted by Gehrig Frei’s RBI double and Sullivan’s two-run homer. The Bulldogs added two more insurance runs in the eighth, sealing the win.
On the mound, Ryan McPherson earned the win, pitching four innings while allowing just one unearned run and striking out five. Nate Williams and Luke Dotson combined for six more strikeouts, shutting down UAB’s offense in the final innings.
