It’s a bit of an unusual week for the Coast’s minor league baseball teams, thanks to the Fourth of July. In Minor League Baseball, not every team gets the chance to host Independence Day festivities. To balance things out, MiLB schedules three-game homestands during the first week of July, ensuring that every team plays at home on either July 3 or July 4.
The Biloxi Shuckers are set to begin a six-game series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, with the first three games (Tuesday through Thursday) taking place in Pensacola. The series then shifts to Biloxi for the weekend, with games scheduled Friday through Sunday at Keesler Federal Park.
The Mississippi Mud Monsters open a three-game road series Tuesday against the Evansville Otters in Indiana. After that, they’ll make the long trip back to Mississippi just in time for Fourth of July festivities at Trustmark Park, where they’ll kick off a weekend series against the Washington Wild Things starting Friday night.
Let’s take a look at what’s on tap this week for the homestand highlights for the Blue Wahoo
