As America celebrates the Fourth of July, two of Mississippi’s minor league baseball clubs are gearing up for packed weekends filled with baseball, promotions, and patriotic flair. Here’s your weekend outlook for the Biloxi Shuckers and Mississippi Mud Monsters.
Biloxi Shuckers

The Shuckers wrap up the second half of the six-game series with the Blue Wahoos. With weekday matchups (Tuesday through Thursday) in Pensacola the series shifts back to Biloxi for the back half of the six game series with the Blue Wahoos beginning Friday July 4 and finishing Sunday July 6.
Friday, July 4 will feature the Shuckers Independence Day Extravaganza, one of the most anticipated nights on the team’s promotional calendar. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., but the real show comes after the final out, with one of the largest fireworks displays on the Gulf Coast lighting up the Biloxi sky.
Saturday, July 5, fans arriving early will be rewarded. The first 1,000 through the gates will receive a commemorative Shuckers 10th Anniversary Rope Hat, a stylish nod to a decade of baseball on the Coast. Game time is 6:05 p.m., and gates open at 5:00 p.m.
The homestand concludes on Sunday, July 6 with Fun Day Sunday, a family-friendly tradition. Kids can play catch on the field pregame and meet their favorite players for autographs after the final pitch. First pitch is set for 5:05 p.m., with gates opening at 4:00 p.m.
New Food Items Debuting at Keesler Federal Park
From July 4 through July 13, fans visiting Keesler Federal Park can enjoy a special limited-time menu featuring fried green tomatoes with remoulade at Lighthouse Pier and carnitas tacos topped with pineapple pico and chipotle mayo at the Biloxi Breeze Taco Shack. In addition to these festive eats, new game day staples are being introduced, including GIANT turkey legs available at Lighthouse Pier and the debut of Shuckers Souvenir Beverage Bats—16 oz soda bats and 24 oz brew bats—available at all main concession stands. Each bat comes with a lid and stand, perfect for sipping in the stands or taking home as a keepsake.

The Mud Monsters Get Ready to Celebrate Their First Fourth of July

The Mississippi Mud Monsters opened their week on the road with a clean sweep of the Evansville Otters in Indiana, taking all three games in a series that began Tuesday. After a long overnight bus ride back to the Magnolia State, the Mud Monsters return home to Trustmark Park in Pearl to kick off a three-game weekend series against the Washington Wild Things, starting Friday, July 4.
This weekend marks the team’s first-ever Fourth of July celebration at Trustmark Park, and they’re going all out. The Mud Monsters are promising back-to-back fireworks shows—one on Friday night and another on Saturday, playfully dubbed “Independence Day: The Sequel.” The fun continues Sunday when the series wraps up with a family-friendly finale that lets kids run the bases after the game.
Game times are set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday, and 6:05 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, with gates opening one hour before first pitch.
With both of Mississippi’s minor league teams celebrating the holiday weekend at home, fans can expect a fireworks-filled Fourth at The Swamp in Pearl and Keesler Federal Park in Biloxi.
