Every year, Pearl, Mississippi comes alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of Pearl Day — a community tradition celebrating everything local with a full day of events, food, and fun.

This year promises plenty of baseball excitement, including fans’ first look at the newest minor league baseball team in the Magnolia State, the Mississippi Mud Monsters. Events kick off at 8 a.m. at Trustmark Park with the Mississippi Street Rod Association’s Danny’s Rod Run, now in its 47th year — a must-see for car enthusiasts, featuring a stunning lineup of hot rods, street rods, and custom vehicles.
The action shifts to Pearl Day in the Park at City Park where you’ll find a full day of activities including live music, games for the kids, food trucks and vendors. Make sure you stop by the Mud Monsters table and sign up for your chance to win free tickets to opening day, now 13 days away.
The baseball action begins at Trustmark Park at 10:30a.m. for the Futures Classic High School Tournament. Seven local private schools will play games all day. Jackson Prep, Hartfield Academy, Jackson Academy, Madison-Ridgeland Academy, Canton Academy, Tri-State Academy and Simpson Academy are the teams playing.

Fans will get their first look at the Mississippi Mud Monsters team Saturday as they will hold a free open scrimmage from 12-3p.m. at Pearl High School’s Baseball Field. Players will also be available for autographs.

(Expect Mud Monsters mascot Fish to make plenty of appearances Saturday)
The Annual Pearl Day concludes at 7p.m. for a free concert with Brett Michaels and Warrant at Trustmark Park north parking lot.

With baseball, music, and family fun all packed into one day, Pearl Day promises something for everyone — and this year’s celebration might just be the biggest yet.
