Ole Miss is celebrating a historic moment as both the men’s and women’s basketball teams have advanced to the Sweet 16 of their respective NCAA Tournaments. The Ole Miss men’s basketball team, led by head coach Chris Beard, secured their spot in the Sweet 16 with a commanding 91-78 victory over Iowa State. This marks only the second time in program history that the men’s team has reached this stage, with their last appearance dating back to 2001. The Rebels showcased a balanced offensive attack, with five players scoring in double figures, and a stifling defense that kept the Cyclones at bay. Sean Pedulla led the way with 20 points and 8 assists, while Malik Dia led the way in rebounds with 8 boards. The Rebs now prepare to face the Michigan State Spartans in Atlanta on Friday.

(Sean Pedulla was the star for the Rebels in their Round of 32 win over Iowa State Sunday night.)
On the women’s side, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin has guided the Rebels to their 12th Sweet 16 appearance in program history. The women’s team earned their spot with a thrilling 69-63 upset victory over Baylor in Waco, Texas. Key performances from Sira Thienou and Madison Scott, along with a season-high 21 forced turnovers, propelled the Rebels to victory. The women’s team will face the top-seeded UCLA Bruins in Spokane on Friday

(Madison Scott scored 14 points in the Monday night win over the Baylor Bears.)
