On March 6 Scott Brand took over as the GM of the Mississippi Sea Wolves with a dismal 7-38 record, and the future of hockey in Biloxi looking bleak. Ten days later the Sea Wolves just wrapped up a three game series sweep over the Danville Dashers to complete a five-game winning streak. If that wasn’t enough, it was announced on Sunday night that hockey will remain in Biloxi for at least another year. The Sea Wolves were at the end of a three-year lease with the Coast Coliseum that was signed in 2022.
Here is a recap of the weekend series against the Danville Dashers
Friday Danville 2 vs. Sea Wolves 5

Schooner from the Biloxi Shuckers was in the Wolf’s Den Friday night at Ballpark Night. Schooner picked a great night to come out to the Coliseum as the Sea Wolves dominated game 1 of the series 5-2. Mississippi’s offense was led by Colby Audette, who scored his first professional goal, and Curtis Hansen, who netted two goals, including an empty-netter to seal the win. Goaltender Richie Parent was stellar, stopping 42 of 44 shots to secure the victory.

The Sea Wolves broke out the St. Patrick’s Day jerseys Saturday night. The game was tightly contested until the third period, when Mississippi’s Lucas Piekarczyk and Noah Hippolyte-Smith scored crucial goals to secure the win. The Sea Wolves’ defense held strong, and Ed Coffey delivered a solid performance in goal.
Sunday Danville 0 vs. Sea Wolves 4
In Game 3 of the Series the Sea Wolves handed the Dashers their 44th straight loss. The game was a tightly contested contest with the Sea Wolves and Dashers tied a 0 after the first period and the shots on goal evenly divided. It would not be until the third period when the Sea Wolves took control. Brenden Hussey’s two goals late in the game put the game away. Curtis Hansen followed it up with an insurance goal in the last four minutes.
The Sea Wolves (11-37) embark on a long road trip next weekend to Michigan. They’ll kick off the weekend Friday night traveling 1,052 miles to Fraser, Michigan to take on the Motor City Rockers (14-32). They will then travel 50 miles north to the Canadian border to take on the Purt Huron Prowlers (26-22)
