Fans of baseball and blockbuster thrills are in for a truly unique double feature this Saturday, June 21, as the Pensacola Blue Wahoos host their annual “Shark in the Park” promotion following their home game against the Montgomery Biscuits.
The popular postgame event transforms the tranquil waters of Pensacola Bay into a floating cinema, where fans are invited to bring their swimsuits, climb into an inflatable tube, and watch the classic 1975 thriller Jaws, on the 50th anniversary date it came out, projected on a giant screen just beyond the stadium’s outfield seawall.
This year’s edition marks a return of one of the most buzzworthy promotions in Minor League Baseball, blending the waterfront charm of Blue Wahoos Stadium with the suspenseful nostalgia of Steven Spielberg’s shark epic.

A One-of-a-Kind Experience
Gates open at 5:00 p.m. for the 6:05 first pitch between the Blue Wahoos and Biscuits, but fans who purchase the Shark in the Park package will receive far more than just a seat in the stands. The themed ticket includes admission to the game, a commemorative Shark Night T-shirt, and a specially branded inflatable tube to use in Pensacola Bay during the movie.
After the final out and a brief transition period—sometimes including postgame fireworks—fans can make their way to the water’s edge, where floating launch points near Bruce Beach and the marina area will allow for safe entry into the bay. From there, participants will drift gently offshore while Jaws plays against the Pensacola skyline.

Safety and Shoreline Logistics
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, all participants must wear life jackets, which are provided along with the tubes. Lifeguards and rescue personnel will be stationed nearby, and barriers will be set up to define the safe floating zone.
Event organizers emphasize that fans should bring waterproof bags for valuables and consider water shoes for navigating rocks or oyster beds near shore. Public restrooms and food stands will remain open near the launch area.
While the film begins shortly after the game concludes—estimated around 9:00 to 9:15 p.m.—the total run time of Jaws means fans can expect to be floating well past 10:30 p.m., with local ferry and marina services on alert to assist in returning guests to shore.
