Friday Biloxi 0 Pensacola 4
The Biloxi Shuckers and Pensacola Blue Wahoos opened their 2025 seasons on Friday night in Pensacola, kicking off the 13th season at Blue Wahoos Stadium. It was a gorgeous opening night on the Pensacola Bay with a sold-out crowd of 5,038 witnessing the best view in baseball as well as a 4-0 Blue Wahoos shutout over the Shuckers.
Robby Snelling, a top prospect for the Miami Marlins, delivered an impressive five-inning start, allowing only two hits and striking out five. The Blue Wahoos’ bullpen followed with three scoreless innings. Former Ole Miss star Kemp Alderman and Nathan Martorella led the Blue Wahoos’ offense, combining for six of the team’s eight hits. Martorella contributed two RBIs. Both teams showcased excellent defense, with the Shuckers’ catcher Darrien Miller throwing out two Blue Wahoos runners at the plate.
The Shuckers struggled offensively, with hits from Cooper Pratt, Brock Wilken, Zavierr Warren, and Ramón Rodríguez. Former Magnolia Heights star Pratt, a top prospect for the Milwaukee Brewers, made his regular-season Double-A debut. Pratt is also brothers with Southern Miss shortstop Ozzie.
Saturday Biloxi 1 Pensacola 7

On Saturday Blue Wahoos continued their strong start to the season with a decisive 7-1 victory. The Wahoos scored five runs in the fifth inning, breaking the game wide open. Once again Nathan Martorella and Kemp Alderman were instrumental, combining for multiple hits and RBIs. The Blue Wahoos’ pitching staff delivered another solid outing, limiting the Shuckers to just one run. Evan Fitterer got the start for Pensacola and kept the Shuckers’ offense in check. Biloxi managed to score their lone run in the sixth inning but couldn’t mount a comeback against Pensacola’s dominant pitching and defense.
Sunday Biloxi 4 Pensacola 8

The Blue Wahoos secured a series sweep over the Shuckers on Sunday afternoon winning 8-4. Making his Double-A debut, Wahoos catcher Sean Praytor hit a game-changing two-run homer in the fourth inning, regaining the lead for the Blue Wahoos. It was a memorable first hit for the former Alabama Crimson Tide star. The Blue Wahoos’ bats came alive, overcoming four errors to secure the win. They scored early but saw their lead erased in the middle innings before rallying again. Pensacola used four pitchers to navigate the game, showcasing depth and adaptability.
