1) Aidan Glover, QB — Northwest Mississippi (NWCC)
A redshirt freshman and former Missouri signee, Glover brings prototype size (6-4) and a live arm to Bobby Franklin Field. If he settles protections early, Northwest’s vertical game can stretch secondaries and open lanes for the run game. His SEC-level recruitment and tools make him one of the league’s highest-ceiling passers.
2) Ja Keyes, RB — Northwest Mississippi (NWCC)
Listed at 6-0, 220 and arriving from Kentucky, Keyes gives the Rangers a true downhill finisher who can salt away fourth quarters. Expect NWCC to lean on his contact balance in short yardage while using Glover’s arm to lighten boxes. If he stacks early touchdowns, he’ll shape game scripts all fall.
3) Landon Varnes, QB — Mississippi Gulf Coast (MGCCC)
Varnes returns after a breakout 2024 where he threw for 2,242 yards and 27 TDs in 10 games—numbers that explain MGCCC’s confidence building around him. He’s accurate, decisive, and comfortable pushing tempo. If the Bulldogs hold up this year then he’ll be a prime Player-of-the-Year candidate.
4) Reese Mooney, QB — Pearl River (PRCC)
PRCC dipped into the portal for Mooney, a Louisiana-Monroe transfer who upgrades the Wildcats’ arm talent and experience. With a good supporting cast in Poplarville, his ability to hit intermediate windows could be the difference in a crowded South race.
5) Cobey Craft, RB — Jones College
Craft’s 2024 tape screams reliability: 427 rushing yards, 3 TDs, 4.4 yards per carry, plus a 100-yard day in the season finale. Jones’ August camp notes again point to him as a tone-setter for a “fast and physical” backfield, making him the metronome for the Bobcats’ offense.
6) JQ Gray, WR — Jones College
A Southern Miss transfer now in Ellisville, Gray brings big-play juice and positional flexibility (slot/outside/return). If Jones stabilizes at quarterback, Gray’s YAC ability and multi-phase value can flip fields and change how defenses allocate help.
7) Amar Harper, OL — Itawamba (ICC)
Named a JCGridiron Preseason All-American, Harper anchors ICC’s front with the kind of drive-blocking that travels in November. His presence lets the Indians stay on schedule on early downs and build play-action shots later.
8) Barrett Maddox, OL — Itawamba (ICC)
Maddox joined Harper on the JCGridiron preseason lists and arrives with FBS pedigree (Vanderbilt/Marshall). At 6-6, 315, he can lock edges and clean up twists—key against North pass-rush units. Together, he and Harper give ICC a playoff-caliber foundation up front.
9) Brady Hammonds, QB — East Central (ECCC)
ECCC’s preseason release highlights Hammonds as a central piece of the offense after transferring in (VMI). His pocket poise and intermediate accuracy fit the Warriors’ identity; if he limits negative plays in September, East Central’s late-season ceiling rises fast.
10) Trey Irving III, QB — East Mississippi (EMCC)
The 2024 Mississippi 5A Mr. Football signed with EMCC in December and now battles for early snaps in Scooba. Dynamic as a dual threat at Gautier, Irving’s growth curve is the swing factor for a Lions team intent on climbing back into the MACCC title picture.
