Creek Robertson’s name may not have been on Southern Miss rosters for long, but his baseball story is still very much alive.
Robertson arrived at Southern Miss out of Madison Central as one of Mississippi’s better two-sport athletes. In high school, he helped the Jaguars win the 2020 Mississippi 6A state championship with a 34-2 record, a team later recognized as national champions by the National High School Baseball Coaches Association. He was also a Clarion-Ledger Baseball Dandy Dozen selection and ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 8 shortstop in Mississippi’s 2021 class. On the football field, he was just as productive, totaling 231 tackles and earning first-team all-state honors as a safety.

At Southern Miss, Robertson redshirted in 2022 but stayed active in summer ball, playing for the Ocean State Waves in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. That summer, he hit .191 with five doubles, a triple, five RBIs and nine stolen bases, finishing strong by hitting safely in eight of his final nine games.
His biggest Golden Eagle action came in 2023, when he played in 31 games and made 19 starts. He hit .182 with a double, a home run and nine RBIs before continuing his college baseball journey elsewhere.

After Southern Miss, Robertson transferred to Pearl River Community College, where he became an impact shortstop. In 2024, he hit .290 with a .400 on-base percentage, .430 slugging percentage, 15 doubles, three home runs, two triples, 26 walks and eight stolen bases. Defensively, he committed only eight errors in 189 chances and helped turn 22 double plays.

Robertson transferred to Memphis following an outstanding season at Pearl River Community College. Although he joined the Tigers for the 2025 season, he did not appear in a game before continuing his collegiate career with Mississippi College in 2026

So where is Creek Robertson now?
He just wrapped up his redshirt senior year , for Mississippi College up the road in Clinton. In 2026, Robertson started 51 games for the Choctaws and hit .282 with 48 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 37 RBIs, 32 runs scored and nine stolen bases. He also ranked among the team leaders in slugging percentage, RBIs, doubles, home runs, total bases, stolen bases and defensive assists.
Robertson’s baseball journey has been anything but conventional. It has taken him from Madison Central to Southern Miss, from summer ball in New England to Pearl River Community College, then to Memphis and ultimately Mississippi College. He went from a highly touted Mississippi high school standout to a Southern Miss developmental player, a successful junior college rebound story, and finally a veteran infielder who put together one of the best seasons of his collegiate career in 2026. Now, it appears Robertson’s college baseball career has come to a close. If that proves to be the final chapter, he’ll leave the game having shown the perseverance to navigate college baseball’s ever-changing landscape while continuing to chase opportunities every step of the way
