McIlroy’s appearance marks his first tournament since achieving the career Grand Slam at Augusta National two weeks ago. Despite battling a cold, he expressed enthusiasm about returning to TPC Louisiana and reuniting with Lowry. Their victory last year was a highlight for both players, and they aim to replicate that success this week.

The tournament will take place on the West Bank at the famous TPC of Louisiana, which opened in 2004.  It has hosted the Zurich Classic since 2005. Designed by Pete Dye with input from PGA professionals Steve Elkington and Kelly Gibson, the course spans over 7,400 yards and features a challenging layout with water hazards, bunkers, and native cypress swamps. The course is part of the Audubon Golf Trail and is known for its commitment to environmental sustainability.
The course is most famous for the number of gators who live on the course.  A recurring highlight each year is the number of golfers who have to take their shot while alligators bask in the sun five feet away. Â
